Seed Grants

The Institute of Academic Innovation provides seed grants to members of the SPU community to support creativity and innovation across the campus and beyond. Faculty, Staff, Administrators and Students are encouraged to propose ideas integral to the mission of the institution and incorporating the University's approach to academic innovation (efficient, effective and essential). Existing funds are appropriated yearly by the Office of the Provost, and administration is coordinated between the Institute and the Center for Scholarship & Faculty Development.

The 2016-2017 call will accept proposals to fund projects with $1,000 - $2,500 as seed grants for growth and innovation. Applications are received on a rolling deadline as funds are available (closing at the end of Spring quarter), with the expectation that by the end of the following school year the instigators will have initiated their innovation and be able to report on outcomes and the future of the project.
