Rolin serves as both the Director of the Institute for Academic Innovation and as an Assistant Professor. He is responsible for identifying, supporting, promoting, and furthering progressive practices in teaching and learning across the SPU campus and into the greater community. Projects outside the traditional structures of academic institutions have a home in the Institute for Academic Innovation, no matter the size or scope. The Institute provides administrative backing and cross-campus support for faculty-led innovations, designs and deploys cutting-edge practices across the campus, and participates in the development and implementation of university-wide efforts often involving the greater communities of government and enterprise. This work includes the University's growing academic technology initiatives: blended and online learning, digital formats for non-formal education practices, learning management, web-based learning ecosystems, technology deployment in physical spaces, and open education.
Rolin received his Ed.D. in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine University. He has a M.A. in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas, where he was a Michener Fellow for Writing for Film, and a B.A. in English from Centenary College of Louisiana. Read his vitae here.
