Everyone experiences major events in such extreme differences, leading to major difference in the way people choose to remember those events. We can look at things like 9/11 or even something more recent such as the bombings in Paris, initial reactions are usually very similar across the board, overwhelming shock and disbelief. Then time progresses, and that is when we see the changes, people begin to remember and cope in ways which are as different and unique as they are. For some, mourning becomes the way they remember what happened, others find solace in celebrating the lives that were lost. Remember is a tricky beast, there becomes no right or wrong way to go about it, the only wrong thing, at least in my opinion would be to not remember at all.
