Traynor Hansen has taught writing and English literature at the University of Washington and SPU since 2007. He specializes in the literature of British Romanticism and the long-eighteenth century, as well as the history and development of the genre of the essay. His doctoral dissertation, Revealing Character and Concealing Identity in the Romantic Familiar Essay, is a study of magazine essays in the first few decades of the nineteenth century. When he’s not chasing after his four children, he is often anxiously watching or thinking about the Seattle Mariners.
