After a wonderful course of international/postcolonial literature, I am off to South Africa for a study abroad program. At the National Arts Festival, I will be presenting on global re-interpretations of 9-11 in the plays Molora and At Her Feet. This presentation will be based on my book chapter on these two playwrights in Performing Democracy in Iraq and South Africa (Syracuse University Press, 2013). I'm looking forward to presenting in South Africa as part of the Author's Conversation, and I will chair a panel on Theater for Reconciliation. Plus, there are some amazing performances that our student group will attend, which I hope to blog on, as the trip progresses!
